Each replacement head uses Philips' MultiPrecision blade technology with Super Lift and Cut Action, in which the first blade lifts each hair upright before the second blade cuts it cleanly and comfortably close to the skin, capturing both short and longer hairs in a single efficient pass.

Replacing shaving heads every 2 years is the recommended maintenance schedule for all compatible Philips rotary shavers, and many newer models include a built-in replacement reminder that lights up a shaving unit symbol when the heads are due for changing. After fitting new heads, the replacement reminder can be reset by holding the on/off button for more than 7 seconds. The SH50/50 is compatible with rounded Series 5000 shavers (S5xxx, excluding S55xx and angular-shaped models), all Series 6000 shavers (S6xxx), AquaTouch (AT8xx, AT7xx, S5xxx) and PowerTouch (PT8xx, PT7xx). How to use

1. Open the shaver by pressing the release button. Remove the retaining rings by turning them anticlockwise. Take out the old shaving heads and carefully insert the new replacement heads, ensuring each head aligns exactly in its correct position in the setting.
2. Replace the retaining rings and secure by turning clockwise until locked. Close the shaving head you will hear it click into place when correctly fitted. To reset the built-in replacement reminder, press and hold the on/off button for more than 7 seconds. The reminder will also reset automatically after 9 successive shaves.
